Our engineers and technicians have experience working with, developing, designing, and fabricating a variety of high temperature MLI materials. 

  • Elevated Temperature (up to 300° C)
    Materials that are used for these applications include polyimide films, Nomex® threads, and PTFE impregnated glass cloth.
  • High Temperature (300° C to 1000° C)
    MLI blankets that will be used in this temperature range typically include graphite cloth, ceramic textiles, and fiberglass fabrics.
  • Ultra High Temperature (1000° C and above)
    Materials that are used in this temperature extreme include refractory metal foils (coated and uncoated), ceramic and silicon carbide textiles, graphic cloth, and silica fiber felt.

SpaceWrapHT™

SpaceWrapHT™

SpaceWrapHT™ is a prefabricated layup that is ideal for high temperature applications. It combines multiple layers of ultrathin 0.33 mil (8 µm) Kapton film separated by lightweight, low-conducting polyester netting. As with SpaceWrap™, the film is coated with aluminum on both sides for high thermal performance. The netting is made of a lightweight scrim to minimize weight and layer-to-layer conductivity. Standard configurations come in a length of 10 feet and custom widths of up to 48 inches. Our standard layups come with 10, 15, and 20 reflector layers, but they can also be customized to fit your needs.
